Women Belong Returns to the Build Site to Break Barriers and Raise $40K

Women Belong is proud to return for its fifth consecutive year partnering with Habitat for Humanity Chicago’s Women Build event. On Thursday, October 23, two Women Belong teams will join hundreds of volunteers on the South Side to help build affordable housing—and a more equitable future.

Since 2021, Women Belong has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Habitat Chicago. In 2024 alone, the organization contributed over $35,000, and this year, the teams are reaching higher with a $40,000 fundraising goal as part of Habitat Chicago’s $700,000 campaign.

Women Belong is a global community of women entrepreneurs, professionals, and business leaders committed to mutual support, connection, and social impact. The organization fosters growth in business and life by cultivating networks rooted in belonging and collaboration.

Women Build aligns with Women Belong’s mission by addressing one of the most persistent barriers to women’s economic freedom: access to affordable homeownership. A safe, stable home lays the foundation for everything else—well-being, opportunity, entrepreneurship, and wealth-building.

“We know that when a woman has a secure place to live, she can focus on building her business, investing in her future, and uplifting her community,” said Women Belong CoFounder Dorothy Rosen. “Our hope is that one day, there will be Women Belong teams participating in Women Build across the country—everywhere our members live and work—helping to dismantle the gendered obstacles to homeownership.”

Women Build is more than a day of service—it’s a movement to knock down systemic inequities. Through both fundraising and hands-on construction, Women Belong is helping to build homes, confidence, and lasting change for women—especially women of color—who are disproportionately locked out of ownership and stability.
