After I was finally diagnosed with Autoimmune and Autoinflammatory issues, medicines weren’t helping as fast as I thought they should, I started seeking out safer, toxin-free options for things like cleaning products and laundry detergent. This transition of household cleaners, seemed the easiest place to start.  A real eye opener for me was that while I may not be able to control the medicines I needed to get out of bed on a daily basis, but I could get rid of as many toxins in my surroundings and go the toxin-free route as much as possible.

I started seeing information about these toxin-free beauty products and when I found out how many toxins go into your body with just the makeup products alone, I decided it was time to start working on my make-up and skin care products… (I had sooo many items under my cabinets that I had to get rid of, things that barely had been used….now I have apps that show me the level of toxins–)

I knew I needed to make that switch to safer products for my skin,  and I was finally able to when I found Crunchi, (I had to do my homework, due to green-washing in the beauty products).  I fell in love with the line so much and with the message behind the products, that I knew I had to share it with other women. Especially now, given what we are experiencing, it is more important than ever to protect and boost our immune systems, and using toxin-free products that are good for our skin and bodies absolutely supports that! I want to help other women with auto-immune issues, other health issues, celiacs, and allergies learn what they can do to help themselves and start their safe beauty movement.

The simple act of taking care of your skin in the morning and at night and putting on a little makeup as part of your morning routine truly can give you a mental boost. Healthy, beautiful skin is a major confidence booster. Even if it is just you catching a glimpse of your reflection in the mirror! Don’t rush thru your routine, it is also a chance to be mindful and meditative.
