My Dear, FierceOver50 One:
We don’t need more time.
Instead we need to tap into our already-there, but easily forgotten, intuition – our gut sense, our inner genius, the all-knowing fierce one, who lives in our bodies, not in our minds.
If you are an exhausted achiever (or, a recovering one, like me) you might be constantly be telling yourself and others that:
a) You are totally stressed out,
b) You can’t get anything done, and
c) You need more time.
We women are amazing; we have gotten so much done in our lives.
And here we are, in December, nearing the end of another year, asking,
“How can it be that the holidays are approaching in two weeks or so? How did that happen?”
You’ve heard me say that during this time in our lives — the years after our 50th trip around the sun – we realize that all those tools and strategies for managing time have made us feel depressed, depleted, wired and tired, confused, silenced, wasted, stuck, slammed, and continually angry. Right?
This doesn’t happen instantly; it started in our 30’s and 40’s, but it seems that when we get past our 50’s these feeling consume us and our bodies no longer bounce back.
I regularly explain in my newsletters how holding onto stress for decades creates this situation and how the answer is often so different from what we think.
There is a small flame inside of us that never really got extinguished.
The small flame is our inuition. She is our instinct. When we really know something in our gut, it is our intuition speaking.
How do reconnect and strengthen this part of us that is our birthright, our essential selves?
I will be writing more about this in future newsletters.
For a start, we can access our intuition by becoming more aware of our breath and by learning how to inhabit your first chakra, your pelvis, the energetic center of your body.
We do this on a regular basis in the #FierceOver50 Gathering, because, to be honest, it’s not something you can read and think about. It’s a practice.
But if you’re not ready for the Gathering right now, that’s okay.
I have designed a free practice for you that uses breath to connect with your deep pelvic core so that you can tap into your intuition.
Here’s the link: Hey Pelvis! Hello Hips!
When you sign up for this practice, you join my newsletter (but you can always unsubscribe.) And, my newsletters often focus on how to re-connect with our intuitive selves.
In the meantime, listen to your mind talking. Notice when it says “I don’t have enough time.” Ask yourself, “Is this true?” Refocus on your breath, feel your body move, and ask yourself, “What do I really need?” “What would make you feel really good inside right now?” More on this in my newsletters, so jump onboard with me! 💖
Talk soon!
Love and Gratitude,
AnnMerle
