Everyone has a zone of genius. Fully utilizing it can be a challenge. Not admitting your weaknesses or realizing when you need help can hold you back and keep you stuck. Instead of staying mired in the energy-sapping, frustrating cycle of a certain project or task, it can be freeing to simply reach out for help.
As I have been on my entrepreneurship journey, I have been through twists and turns of self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and confusion. I found the courage to reach out and say, “I need help.” Connecting with someone who could come in and be a strength where I had a weakness was a game changer. Together, we were able to move forward in a way I couldn’t alone.
I encourage you to do an internal audit of your business. What is your zone of genius? What is holding you back? What stays stuck on your to-do list without ever getting done? Of the things on that list – which ones are critical to the success of your business or to your own peace of mind? Is it worth paying a trusted partner to take them off your plate?
It can be hard to quantify having a good system, clean data, and efficient workflows. Sometimes, results from practices you implement are long-term, not short-term. I know it’s easy to get impatient – to want to see the desired outcome sooner rather than later. Again, I’m still on that journey myself. But, when you trust the process, put in the work, reach out when you need help, little-by-little you will see things change, shift, and grow.
My strengths are connecting the dots, organizing the chaos, simplifying processes, implementing systems, and coordinating projects. I look at the big picture, while putting the puzzle pieces together.
As my coach once said, “Clarity is kindness.” Extend that kindness to yourself by getting clear on what your strengths are – and where you need someone to be your missing peace.
